This probably happened during 97/98. It was another �talent� show, another fundraiser for school funds, the yearbook or some charity.........and another excuse to give pupils a skive. Before the only good act, the band formerly known as Walrus (comprising of Cossie and co. inc. the ever-changing drummer!) and after the regular Oasis tribute from Andrew Douglas was another Douglas, Dougie Adams. Dougie went on to �sing�. He was up for it, but so was the audience. �Flower of Scotland� and some Rod Stewart numbers got a unexpected response. The audience wanted a bit of fun and started to vote with its feet. They didn�t leave the school hall in large flurries, OH NO! They stamped out his �singing�. Everyone there stamped hard and loudly. Every effort by poor Dougie to �sing� louder was met with the audience increasing the speed of their stamping. The stamping almost sounded choreographed. It�s yet another display of the thunderous participation of Perth Academy pupils and laugh riot to boot... |
